Cartek PDM Instructions
Cartek PDM Specifications
The Cartek 4 channel power distribution module has been designed replace the use of fuses, relays and circuit breakers with one small, solid state electrical unit. Ideally suited for race cars and motorcycles which have limited onboard electrical circuits but where a rugged and reliable control and protection system is required.
With easy to use connections and no configuration procedures required, the Cartek PDM is very quick to install. The 4x ten amp outputs can be used to control power to various items such as ECU's, dashboards, lighting, starter motor and radiator fans etc. The channels will automatically shut down if a short circuit or over-current gets detected whilst LED indications on both the PDM and any Cartek Switch Panel makes fault finding simple. The module measures 90 x 42mm and weighs just 80grms.
When mounting the Cartek Power Distribution Module, electrical contact must be made between the vehicle's chassis/earth and the metal case of the PDM at its mounting points. 12 volt power input is supplied to the PDM via the M6 electrical stud. Power Output connections are made using 6.3mm spade terminals.
Each channel is turned ON by connecting the corresponding channel signal wire to chassis/earth. Connection can be made using dashboard switches, oil pressure switches, thermo-switches, etc. When a Cartek Switch Panel (push button switches with integrated LED) is used then the LED will display the channel status:
No LED = Channel OFF
LED on = Channel ON
Flashing = ERROR
When short-circuit or over current is detected, the PDM will shut down that channel and the corresponding LED will begin to flash. To reset the error, switch the channel OFF then ON again.
More information and installation instructions for the Cartek PDM can be found in the Technical Info tab which is located above the product image.
